GNU/Linux Command – PLAY

play — Play the sound file.

Summary:

Play different types of sound files from the command line. It is a front end to the more general sox package. Normally, the play will automatically try to detect the type and other parameters of the sound file.

Examples:
$ play snd.wav -- Play the wave file. $ play snd.aiff -- Play the AIFF file. $ play snd.wav echo .5 .5 100 .5 -- Play with echo effect. $ play snd.wav reverb 1 1000 333 333 333 333
