GNU/Linux Command – LP

lp — Print file.
 
Summary:
 
lp submits files to printer spool for printing or alters a pending jobs in the printer spool.
 
Example:
$ lp file -- Print the file in the default printer.  $ lp f1 f2 -- Print the files (f1 & f2) in the default print.  $ lp -d prn1 file -- Print the file in PRN1 printer.  $ lp -m file -- Send email when the job is completed.  $ lp n 6 file -- Take 6 no.of copies.  $ lp -P 1,3-5,16 file -- Print only specified pages (3-5==3to5).  $ lp -s file -- Silent mode. No output on the screen.
